Lasers are often marketed as the permanent alternative to waxing, tweezing, shaving, and depilatory creams to remove unwanted hair. However, the FDA only recognizes one method for permanent hair removal – the technique provided here at Beverly Hills Hair Free Dallas. From our North Texas office, we provide care for diverse clients to achieve lasting results. Unlike laser technology, our use of advanced electrolysis techniques is also not limiting. It can be a safe and appropriate option for many people grappling with unwanted or excessive hair, including those with medical conditions that would normally preclude them from laser-assisted treatment.
How does your approach differ from lasers?

Laser-assisted hair removal involves directing a handheld device toward the area of unwanted hair. The laser light searches out the melanin or pigment in the skin and hair. The energy from the light is absorbed, which damages the follicles. Hair grows through these sac-like chambers. So, the idea is to damage the follicle and inhibit future hair growth. While this treatment can result in hair growing back lighter and thinner, it is not considered to be a permanent solution for fully smooth, hair-free skin. It is more appropriately referred to as “hair reduction.”
“Touch-ups” are also necessary to maintain the results from lasers. Plus, lasers cannot effectively distinguish between melanin pigment in the skin and pigment in the hair. Because of this, it cannot properly target and treat individuals with dark skin and light, blonde, or gray hair. For these individuals, there is a risk of permanent damage (like scarring and hypopigmentation). We deliver genuinely permanent results—no touch-ups required! Our services are designed to accommodate diverse patients, including those with darker skin tones and lighter hair.
How does your approach work?
Electrolysis involves using special hair-sized probes to safely and effectively treat follicles. The probe is inserted into the follicle. It delivers a DC (direct electric current) to the stem cells within the follicle. The DC triggers a chemical reaction that destroys these cells within the targeted follicle. Since the stem cells are destroyed, the follicle cannot produce future hair. It is truly inhibited for good. Plus, as our electrologists target the stem cells – not the melanin – electrolysis effortlessly distinguishes between hairs and skin. So, it is a risk-free option for people of color or those with light or gray hair that cannot be effectively and safely treated with lasers.
But doesn’t electrolysis hurt?
Our advanced technology is called “multi-probe galvanic electrolysis.” True to its name, we use up to 32 probes instead of a single probe to treat numerous follicles during each session. The 32 points of contact result in virtually no pain in most areas; spreading out the current delivered less painful electrolysis vs one single point of current. In fact, this approach is up to 40% faster than traditional electrolysis methods. We can treat small areas in just four to 10 treatments, larger areas take a few more sessions, and you can complete your treatment in just 18 to 24 months without the need for further maintenance treatments.
