It is a great source of pride to be included in our clients’ transition journey. We recognize that removing unwanted hair greatly impacts how transitioning clients view themselves, helping them lead their most authentic and fulfilling lives. At Beverly Hills Hair Free Dallas, our team in north Texas is not only passionate about serving the unique needs of clients undergoing gender reassignment or confirmation surgery, but we also have considerable experience treating transitioning individuals. All are welcome here, and electrolysis is an inclusive technology appropriate for all skin types and colors and all hair types and colors, too.
When should I start my treatment?
Based on the specific needs or the type of procedure(s) you are undergoing, our experts will advise you when to begin treatment. Since every patient is unique, we will discuss the best approach and your personalized treatment plan during your consultation. We will work with your surgery parameters to make sure you can meet the date you are scheduled for surgery. Due to our advanced approach to electrolysis, we can treat your unwanted hair quickly. So you don’t have the additional stress of “timing” different procedures.
How long does treatment generally take?
Typically, FtM transitions take two treatments each month or a long once-a-month session. Each treatment lasts anywhere from two to four hours, depending on the size of the areas to be treated (i.e., forearms versus thighs). While some of our clients have been able to get results in just four treatments, you may require up to 10. For MtF transitions, we say that appointments are spaced a month apart and can take anywhere from four to six hours (each treatment). It may take just two appointments, but this can vary widely (with some clients requiring up to 12 sessions).
How is your approach different from standard electrolysis?
With conventional electrolysis, a single probe is inserted into the hair follicle to target and destroy the stem cells within these sacs where hairs originate. With our method – multi-probe galvanic electrolysis, we use 16 to 32 probes to treat follicles. We can accomplish much more in significantly less time, achieving total treatment up to 30 times faster than traditional methods. Faster treatment also supports a better, more comfortable, and hassle-free journey to removing the hair that stands between you and your most authentic self.
How does electrolysis compare to lasers?

The FDA recognizes electrolysis as the only method of permanent hair removal. Lasers can provide a long-lasting reduction in unwanted hair but require ongoing touch-up treatments to maintain the results. Plus, lasers may not be right for you. They are generally not indicated for darker-skinned individuals and those with blonde, gray, or very light hair due to the risk of burns and permanent damage. Lasers can mistakenly treat the skin instead of the hair because they target the melanin pigment that gives our skin and hair its color. These devices have difficulty differentiating between pigment in the skin and pigment in the hair. These potentially serious complications are avoided with electrolysis because our system targets the stem cells inside the follicles instead of the melanin. Electrolysis also does not generate and apply heat, which can result in thermal damage.
