At our practice, we offer expert hair removal in the only method that is FDA cleared to support permanent results. Additionally, our innovative approach to electrolysis treats more follicles at a time, so we can accomplish more during each treatment session. And this is just one of many benefits of multi-probe galvanic electrolysis, available to our clients from across Texas – Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Fort Worth, and beyond.
Lasers can permanently reduce hair, but they are not FDA cleared to permanently remove all hairs. Only electrolysis is cleared for a lifetime of smooth, hair-free skin following the completion of full treatment. In fact, our professional electrologists often treat clients who underwent laser treatment but still have hair. Additionally, lasers do not work on all individuals with excess and unwanted hair due to how they target the hair follicles. Electrolysis is different. It can be safely used on all skin types, skin tones, and hair types, as well as those with hormone imbalances and other conditions associated with unwanted hair.
Lasers can be limiting; they are designed to track the melanin or pigment in the follicle. They do not distinguish between the melanin in the skin and the pigment in the hair. For this reason, they are generally not indicated for white, gray, and blonde hairs. The best candidates are largely those with darker hairs and lighter skin. Additionally, there is the risk of those with hormonal imbalances developing paradoxical hypertrichosis, which is the medical way of saying that the laser grows more hair in these cases, and doesn’t reduce it. Due to the stimulated hair growth, they may end up with more hair than before they started laser treatment. Electrolysis is different. It doesn’t track pigment, but rather targets the stem cells in the hair follicles for a safer, precision, and more universally appropriate treatment.
BHHF Dallas is led by an innovator and authority in the electrology field, Alana Dzurek. She has carefully selected multi-probe galvanic electrolysis in part due to its ability to treat 32 follicles at a time instead of just one follicle. When the follicle is treated, future hair growth is permanently stopped. In addition, this method is not associated with heat. The risk of damage to the skin is minimized. By keeping the skin cool, we also promote a more comfortable treatment experience. Altogether, these characteristics allow for our electrologists to treat more and bigger areas for longer during each appointment. What that means for you is a more efficient, convenient process, with fewer return trips to our office for treatment.
